A Dance Piece Across Finland
Finland as a Stage is an adventurous and bold solo performance in which dancer Sanna Hento travels roughly 1,500 kilometres from Helsinki to Utsjoki — dancing the entire way. The journey unfolds along highways and paths, through cities and villages, across forests, fields, hills, and fells. Sanna progresses about 20 kilometres per day, dancing every step.
Audiences may experience the work as a fleeting encounter by the roadside, accompany it for days, or follow it on social media.
Findand as a Stage takes place among people and communities, on the move, stretching the stage to the size of all Finland.
